How do you determine the current base and edge bevels?

Postby Ray » Sun Mar 01, 2015 10:23 am

How do I determine the current edge and base bevels of my skis? When they were sharpened by the shop, I never asked and the shop never asked me what I wanted. The ski is the Head Monster IM78.

Thanks but i know how to use google. Does anyone know how you measure the current bevels on the ski ? The ink pen method did not seem to work for me. Thanks in advance for any help.

The ink pen method works great. I use it even though I have one of these:

More options are discussed on this page (which I found with google):

Take the Edge Angle Gauge, ingeniously simple!

Doesn't it only work for the side edge?

Apparently, but the Edge Controller „Combi“ shown immediately below it claims to measure both.
