I've come into a mint pair of TT80's 176cm that have a demo binder and no plate on them. I'm trying to choose a plate/ binder set-up for them. I am leaning against using a freeflex or similar that has a connecting piece between the toe and heel as I will almost certainly add a shim under the toe. I have found that I am sensitive to forward lean and do best in the 2-3 mm range and that most tyrolia types have at least 5.
There seems to be a plethora of old race plates around and I have one on a old Fischer GS ski that's likely 11-14mm. I also have a mojo 15 binder I could use if I found an appropriate width brake.
Although it may sound like I have it all figured out I am really interested if there are other ideas on this. ps I use the raptor RS if anyone wants to start dissecting what I was asserting about the ramp angles.
Thanks for looking.
