Ski Tuning Tool Kit

Postby Larry_in_ME » Sat Aug 02, 2008 5:50 pm

Hi There,

I'm looking to tune my own skis, so naturally, I'm looking for a good ski tuning toolkit that has all I need.
Can anyone make a recommendation?

As for how to tune, I'll use the advice and instructions posted at the following URL:

http://www.harbskisystems.com/tuning/tools.htm

Thanks in advance for your time and sharing.

Try going to: www.skiandboardtuning.com
You will find a consise and instructive booklet on tuning for recreational skiers, written by a PMTS skier in New Zealand. Worth the nominal cost. Gives you a list of the basic tools needed to do a credible job on your own, and a step by step guide to
keeping your skies sharp and waxed between shop visits.
Good Luck.....

Try tognar tool works - they have a paper catalog, but are on line as well. They have an excellent supply of basic and quite advanced tools and helpful tips.

To all, very many thanks for the info, I really appreciate it.

I'm going to start with tools from HH* as they also provide some tips, etc. Thereafter, when I have more time--I'm asscending a learning curve for the next 6 to 9 months for a new work position with my employer--, I'm going to dig deeper in tuning skis and probably end up going with book offered on SkiAndBoarding.com.

* I'm developing loyalty to HH's methods because I've not seen this type of detail and true understanding of how the human body works in relation to movement since I've taken some martial arts more than 20 years ago (http://www.choishindo.com/about.htm).
