Ski Shaping

Postby Dan » Thu Mar 20, 2008 7:14 am

I'm aware that ski shaping is the removal of the top sheet, sidewall, tip & tail area of skis inorder to provide more accurate & consistant side edge angles, which is very important to get the most performance out of our skis. Does anyone have any experience in this process to help me better understand the steps involved.

Hey bro
check out http://www.holmenkol.us for some good tips on ski prep (it is race based). Tech articles specifically relating to sidewall preparation etc to improve access for edgework/bevels.

For anyone interested in getting your skis shaped in the New England area contact Glen Scannell of Northeast Ski Systems @ (603)254-5749.
Glen also is an expert in boot fitting/alignments & PMTS instructions. Thanks Glen for the help.
