Welch accreditation camp

Postby noobSkier » Wed Mar 13, 2019 12:59 pm

Awesome experience skiing and learning from HH and DR! Few things I learned:

1. What I thought was skiing slow was too fast
2. Direct parallel for 1st time skiers its totally realistic with the right progressions
3. It was way harder and more rewarding than I thought!
4. HH at 70 absolutely slays

Time to go polish my shiny new green pin 8)

Great that you made it there and got some PMTS coaching in person (vs online). That is a game changer.

Congratulations! I'm looking to hit that milestone in the next year or two. Wish me luck!

As to the skiing slower, now you can really see why the coaches on this forum are always saying MA video is done on too steep of a slope and too fast!

Thanks guys! Max_501, HH said my alignment is really good. After I swore I wouldn't touch it, I ended up screwing with it quite a bit. To anyone reading this, unless you want to burn 4 years and are able to get video everyday, this is basically impossible...just go to the pros.

Congrats on the new pin! Are you planning to collect all of the other colors too?

Thank you gentlemen! ToddW, if only it was as easy as collecting them! But in all seriousness, I would 100% go for my blue if HH decides to have an event next season.

Congratulations to Alex, you learned very quickly. Also congratulations to Geoff who came from Australia and the others who worked very hard to achieve this level. We are proud to have you on board.

There are a few things we discussed for Alex to work on in his skiing. Just like with coaching Reilly or Helluva, more of the "Essentials" gives you more progress and more dynamic skiing.

The Green Level has evolved as we have with our PMTS system. The Green is no longer just dancing around on a flat piece of snow.

The Welch Ski School is impressive and we are helping them develop examiners with Peter and Don. Others will follow.

I can say this without the slightest hesitation; Welch Village has the best ski school and teaching program in the world and they aren't sitting around. They are getting better every year. Peter (The GM) is determined and he sees clearly how this can be done.

Does this mean that Geoff will now be able to go to Hintertux as an instructor, with Harald covering air fares, accommodation (including a Monster bar allowance) and coaching fees.

It means Geoff now represents PMTS every time he puts his skis on. Lots of responsibility. People are watching you!
