Ski for PMTS self learning

Postby Mikhail » Fri May 18, 2018 5:53 am

Hi! I've started self learning PMTS and very like it. Last season did exersises from book 1, and some from book 2. My friend says than my skiing has become good-looking. I'm very happy).
I was skiing Fischer Superior SC 165 14 m TR and want to replace it with better slalom carver with shorter TR. Know about Supershapes but already have Redster x9 175 skies.
Would be Fischer WC SC 165 17/18 suitable for further PMTS learning or better look to Elan SLX Fusion 17/18 or Head Rebels i.SL 16/17?
Thank you in advance.

The tightest turn radius is on the isl's.

Thank you jbotti! I can see it in catalogs but I'd like to know about stiffness, aren't Fisher or Elan too stiff? I'd also like to know is there any differencies in i.SL 17 and 18 model years if someone tested it?

The ISL (non RD) is not that stiff a ski. Its actually very similar in flex to the old Super Shape with KERS. I don't know the Fischers that well. The Elan SLX is definitely stiffer than the ISL non RD and it also has a wider turn radius (13.5 vs 12.2 in the 170cm length). The ISL is more user friendly than the SLX but both are great skis. The 17 and 18 skis are the same in the ISL.

Thank you, jbotti! Very appreciate it. I'd go with I.SL then.

i.SL is the best choice.

The Fischer is likely the stiffest ski.

Would something like this be recommended for a PMTS beginner? I'm male, 5'9", 175#. I have no idea what's a good price.
