I finally went to italy and tested in size 25.5 a pair of Nordica Dobermann 130 gp, the Dalbello Drs 130 and a pair of Lange 130 rs LV.
So after going 1 size down on all boots (previously in 26.5), here the feeling:
The Dalbellos were comfy, and sufficiently long for me not to touch front of boot while standing, had to crank them all the way to get tighter fit, and after 15min i was able to move ankle sideways which i didn't find great..
I had to put at least 3.5mm insole under my thermoformed insoles to get tighter fit.
Lange was much better with a smaller lateral space (97mm vs 98mm last), the front side of food had some pressure although on the upper cuff side the fit was quite relaxed even if cranked almost to max.
Finally, the Dobbies had a tighter fit than any boot i previously tried, clearly shorter than the Dalbellos, touching the front boot side not only the liner while standing, great heel pocket, super snug overall. Unfortunately i have pressure points in the navicular instep area, which is quite annoying...
Listening to all the advices here, i decided to go for the nordicas inspite of the pressure points.. skiing tomorrow at via lattea in the alps, let's see how they behave.
In case the instep pressure continues, what's the solution?
Had similar issue on previous boots and i had a bootfitter cutting part of the liner's tongue to remove the pressure. Any ideas?

I have somebody that i will try to work with to remove pressure points and build custom footbeds, but i doubt their skills when it comes to aligning cuffs, canting etc... seems that everybody around is oriented to deliver comfort in the boots, but less oriented on performance

The dobermans have besides the cuff angle adjustments, an upper cuff rotation setting, which from what i noticed in the couple of stores i've been, nobody has any clue on how to setup... damn

I would also doubt their skills regarding footbeds

I tested them and the're not bad, really frees up ankle eversion which was almost impossible with previous custom foot beds (high arches). Looking forward to test next week. This weekend went skiing with previous boots, floating in them

Is there a preferred boot for someone with a very high instep?

Not sure. I know that I had instep bite with the Dobermann and Atomic RT boots, and I have plenty of instep room in a Lange RS. I don't have a particularly high instep though.

The Dalbello DRS had a lot of instep room.

Any thoughts (opinions) on Head Advant Edge 125 or Salomon X Pro 120? Liked both on the first try.
