MA request on BPST

The release is two footed. Both skis go flat. The weight transfer to the new stance leg happens much later in the sequence than you think.

Very nice movements, some fine tuning with alignment will make it much smoother and more progressive. Tough to do over the internet.

Excellent work carverhk!

We've seen some amazing changes.

Harald is right, at this point, proper alignment will help a lot to take you to the next level.

Thank you all for confirming my progress. :D

I m very happy to be able to release at slow speed. Its way more difficult and education then normal speed turns. What I feel in learning this linked turns is that if I don't achieve a release I ll either continue locked uphill or actively pivot to change edges. I can now able to tell on the fly if each turn is pivoted or using the sidecut, thanks to the exercise. I think Harald is simply brilliant in designing this exercise. :D

At the moment I m using a pair of custom footbed custom made by foot specialist in Hong Kong. Actually I also suspected I have alignment issue. I can tell the difference when turning right or left on the fly now. It probably make it easier to play with different changes to the alignment. But one big problem is I don't have anyone able to modify my boots in HK and I feel kind of scary to play with shimming the binding. For now, I ll re-read the alignment chapter in Book1 to see what options I have.

Love the music Martin.

Was HKGodfather watching you ski?

What did he say? Show me a perfect bullet proof short turn or I'll have to make you an offer you can't refuse?

Nice work HK. Shoot, for some reason I thought you'd been aligned, so I kept my mouth shut, but that problem you have with pushing your hip could be alignment related. Pushing the outside hip to release is a common symptom of gross overcanting. If you are bowlegged, your uphill ski will start in a heavily edged position and if the bowleggedness is severe enough, it may be difficult to release the ski solely through tipping. If that is what is going on with you, fixing your alignment will have a tremendous effect on your skiing. Meanwhile, excellent job working the movements to overcome that (if it is, in fact, an issue). Keep up the good work!

Thank you both for the encouragement! :D

It is exciting and encouraging to have receive so many positive feedback. Now my ego is back. However, All I can say is it's all due to PMTS methodology as I have been solely work on PMTS since I returned to this forum and indulge in working out the BPSRT(great for me as a recreational skier) since 5 April 2009. Its been great to work with you all and getting all the very unreserved expert level helps. That have been what kept me going despite of all the fallings and disappointments everytime I try to push harder on my skiing in that fridge. Now I m feeling I m very safe to ski all mountain enjoying the scenery rather then fighting to stay safe. :D

geoffda - I understand what you said. I take that my alignment is temporarily fixed by BigE with the understanding that I couldn't do any external canting here in the commercial city of Hong Kong. The simplest fact about my alignment is I have 1 leg misaligned in the ankle and another leg misaligned in the tibia(curved) to a sever enough degree. When I bent my knees, they kiss each other with some great passion that I just blame my parents. My current footbed is doing a good work of keeping my knees making love in the public so I take that its a good enough temporary measure. I bet I can only leave it to the hand of professionals when I visit a PMTS boot specialist in the future. :D

Bravo HK!

You've come a long way. It's good to see how you now are finishing your turns in practice...early on you turns were very shallow. I did the same when I started. Keep at it you are on your way.

Way to go... HK!

You've found the magic.... hard work, practice and perseverance. And allowing things to feel a little awkward until the body and movements feel familiar and comfortable. By all the video and posts and good questions... you are undoubtedly one of the hardest workers on this forum. Keep up the great effort.

P.S. I wish I could do the releases as well as you!
