The Skiersedge ia a training ski machine, anybody tried or heard about this? Probably good for fitness but i have serious doubt that it could help to develop a good skier. Any comments?

Page 13 of Anyone Can Be an Expert Skier 2: "Another tool I have found to be very effective for PMTS movements is the Skiers Edge trainer. The machine with its newly designed stance plate allows independent tipping of both feet." Harald Harb.

I've only been on one of these once and found it a very difficult workout and it took some time to get the hang of what it wanted me to do. It supports the movements of flexing both legs at transition and extending to the outside during the turn, although the extension is done with a lot of pushing the feet away, while on snow we want to avoid this kind of push.
No matter where you go, there you are.

I have one. Its pretty good for hiit training. Its also possible to focus on PMTS stuff like lifting the bte, counteracting, counterbalancing etc and in particular flexing which really changes the game on the machine. To get it going hard you must flex very agressively

I dont think you can learn to ski on it, but if you already have a good base you can focus on different stuff to really get it ingrained.

Quite good for balancing as well.

You can vary the stance width. After I started with PMTS last year I narrowed it a bit.
One thing that I miss is that since the feet are fixed in fore-aft direction you cannot develop a natural lead of the inside foot.

Overall, not as good as skiing, but it sure beats running and cycling indoors. Much more fun.

Thanks for the info, so it is more for fitness and clearly nothing can replace a good practice on ski.

Great fitness, some balance benefits, but no technical skiing benefits. If you use it for training, it's a great non impact leg machine, eccentric hamstring, concentric quad. If you can forget you are pushing your platform away, which is wrong, and just focus on the retraction, there is a slight benefit, but it won't teach you to get it right for snow skiing.
