A-Basin Tech Camp - Nov 07

Postby DavidV » Wed Oct 17, 2007 4:02 am

This is a call out to any campers coming to the Tech camp in A-Basin Nov 28 - Dec 2 that are making accommodation/car hire plans.

Any one doing a condo-style hire that needs another body to share costs?

Otherwise, where are people planning to stay? I have read the threads in this forum. Seems Dillon and Keystone are the main options. Having a car seems like a necessity though .. ?

thanks for any pointers!

HI Dave,
When I was at the ABasin accred last spring, I stayed at Dillon in the Ptarmigan Lodge Best Western. It was a short drive (15 minutes) up to the mountain. Nice place, with an excellent little restaurant next door.
There are closer condos in Keystone, too. No place to stay at the mountain though.
A car is necessary though there is some bus service, but then you're waiting for them, and you still need to get out there from Denver.

I'm arriving on the saturday before the camp and I'll have a car

Cheers

looks like nice accommodation. Have fun! how about a review when you get back? I'd like to get there next year if the exchange rate stays so good :-)

Hey Matt, any chance of making Japan after Christmas?

That is right!

I also booked into Frisco Lodge, but for a different camp (December 10), former Copper. Did not realize it at once.

It looks like a good deal, though.

Arapahoe Inn at Keystone, 1-970-513-9009, $79, ask for the Harb Ski Systems special.

Otherwise, lots of places in Silverthorne and Dillon, as well as Keystone.

A rental car is probably a necessity. Bus service might get one there a bit late, as I recall, and the shuttle cost from DEN to Summit County is fairly costly.
