Avatars - those pics by your Handle/Username in your posts

You can now link to a picture you'd like to use when you post. (keep it tame - this is a public forum after all)

Uploading a picture does not work and won't work unless we move the forum since the required directory to hold the images does not exist nor can I at this end make it exist.

But, if you have a pic you want to point to at a photo hosting site, you can do that by editing your profile and pasting in the url for the pic.

Max size is about 6k and size is 130 by 130 pixels.

Have fun!

I could crop in more

I could crop in more, but then you wouldn't have the salom pole with branches in the pic anymore. I did crop out one tree to get you bigger.

Whatever you'd like.

Do you like your closeup view better? Is that more like what you had in mind?

Bigger Avatar's

Postby John Mason » Fri Nov 11, 2005 9:08 pm

Apparently I can use bigger avatars - so please pm me if you want me to put your pic up. I'll pm you back an e-mail address to send the pic to.

Or, you can edit your profile and just put a URL to point to your picture not to exceed 300x300 in size and you can change your own picture. But I don't mind editing a pic and popping it up if you'd like.

Bump May 2008

Can we post images now? If so what is the procedure?

Thanks

Geoff

The new software allows now for uploading the files and images but this feature is now disabled in order to conserve the disk space. The issue is that the service providers do charge for the disk space and usually give some disk space quota so it does not make much sense to pay extra when multiple free image and video hosting solutions are available.
