Green/Blue Camp - Lodging & Ticket Info

Hello Harb Ski Campers!

We hope that you are starting to think about the upcoming winter and ski season. If you are planning your lodging for the Ski Granby Ranch Green/Blue Camp, here is some information.

You may lodge anywhere you like during the camp. Ski Granby Ranch offers a variety of lodging, including hotels, motels, condominiums, and B&B’s, at the base of the mountain, the foot of the access road, and in nearby Granby. Other than Base Camp One (see next section), you need to have a car in order to get to and from the mountain.

Ski Granby Ranch is about a 2-2.5 hour drive from Denver International Airport. The drive goes over Berthoud Pass on State Highway 40. You can rent a car at the airport and do all the driving, which gives you the most flexibility; take a shuttle to and from Granby and rent a car there for the week (avoiding the mountain driving); or take the shuttle and have no rental car.

No Car?
If you will not have a car during camp, then plan to stay at Base Camp One, directly at the base of the mountain. You can eat dinner each night at the Granby Ranch Grill in the base lodge. You will need to manage one ride to the City Market grocery store in order to stock up on breakfast provisions. Post a note on the forum and see if you can share a ride with another camper.

Car Rental in Granby
If you prefer not to drive over Berthoud Pass, you can take a shuttle from the airport to and from Granby, and rent a car there at Avalanche Car Rental, 970-887-3908.

Base Camp One
This deluxe lodge, directly at the foot of the mountain, provides ski-in, ski-out convenience at camp. Campers and coaches have stayed there in previous years and will be there again this season; staying there really adds to the camp group experience. Campers who stay there have an easy time socializing and finding dinner companions. You can walk to the lifts and walk to dinner each night at the Granby Ranch Grill.

Want to share a unit? Post on the forum and see if you can find another camper to share with you.

Other Lodging
Ski Granby Ranch’s web site has links to numerous lodging options...

In previous years our travelling coaches have stayed at the Littletree Inn, between Granby Ranch and the town of Granby. It is economical, quiet, and convenient:

Alignment Pre-days
If you are arriving early for camp and wish to have your indoor alignment session done prior to camp, we do have openings at our shop. [The shop is directly on your way from the airport to Solvista, but you'll need to have a car to come there.] If you’d like to schedule a pre-day appointment, please email us as soon as you have your travel planned (or start planning it) so that we can book a time for you.

Daily Alignment Sessions
Each afternoon's alignment session will take place either in the Overlook Room near the cafeteria seating in the base lodge or in a Base Camp One condo (TBD). In either case, it’s a very short walk from the base lodge to the alignment session. Please bring a pair of loose pants or shorts for your alignment session.

Lift Tickets - Important!
We will have group-rate tickets available through us for camp. We will have this year's ticket rates closer to the start of the season. For reference, last year’s rates (‘14-’15) were $200 for 5 days (adult); $175 for 5 days (senior, 61-69); and $35 for 5 days (golden, 70+). We will contact you with ticket prices when they are available.

If you are planning to ski for ~7 days or more at Granby Ranch, check out the price of a season pass on their web site. It might be cheaper than our 5-day group rate plus the daily ticket rate for the extra days.

If you are planning to stay longer and get a season pass, do it soon... the prices on the web are a limited time offer, and they will go up later in the summer or autumn as they reach certain sales targets.

Please send us an email if you have any questions.

Hello,
Does anyone know if they have 1/2 day passes for my wife who is not on a course?
Thanks
Michael.

Michael,

Granby Ranch has had half-day tickets in the past. I imagine that they will this season as well. I cannot recall whether they have a morning-only ticket, or whether the half-day tickets start midday.
