I got on my slant board this past weekend for the first time this season. It got me thinking about what material would be ideal as the covering. You really want something that when you're edged holds you just like on snow, but also is slippery enough so that when the boots are flat you slip down the board just like when you are on snow. The indoor/outdoor carpet I used isn't exactly slippery when my boots are flat on the board. Anyone else have any opinions about whether or not that should be the goal and what material should be used?

Slant board is for practicing the movements in a non-reactive environment (no pedantics, please). Slipping when flat would inhibit this practice.
