BC Birds of Prey Races

I know from Harald that conditions at A-basin have been pretty good so far this season (for early season conditions). But A-Basin's base is 10,400. Vail and Beaver Creek start around 8000 feet and apparently it has been quite warm there, continues to be warm during the day this week and the races that start on 12/2 (11/30, DH training runs) are in doubt. Looks like the FIS has to make a decision by this weekend, and with the forecast for continued warm temps these races have a strong chance/likelihood of getting cancelled and re-scheduled for later in the season, most likely in Europe.
Balance: Essential in skiing and in life!

Killington saved a WC like that a few years back, but they had hundreds of guns, a vast fleet of rental compressors, and unlimited water. Even so, day of race warmth led to a delayed start and a challenging 2nd run on the GS day. Still lots of fun to watch. Hard to see a similar rescue in Colorado with snowmaking limitations and it being a speed event.
