Here is a great article from the Washington Post that outlines a lot of what was happening last season and why this season should be very different for Mikaela.
When I read that she was at the starting gate and could not remember the course she was about to ski, it's clear that her mental and emotional issues were just debilitating last season.
Another part of the article talks about her lack of fitness which explains why for the first time ever last season she was losing time in the bottom third of the course (where she has always gained significant time). If your legs are shot it pretty much explains everything.
reading this, it's obvious that Mikaela has high expectations for this season and the Olympics and that she has done what she needed to be a dominant skier once again. It will be fun to watch!
