Soelden This Weekend

Postby jbotti » Thu Oct 21, 2021 12:21 pm

For the ski racing fans, the first WC race is this weekend with the women's GS on Saturday and the Men's on Sunday. Good luck finding it carried anywhere in the US unless something changes in the next two days. This is an especially ominous sign for getting any US broadcasts of WC races during the season. I know the market is small (in the US) but it is an Olympic year and you would think NBC/Peacock would carry some to generate interest. As of yet no NBC/Peacock deal is in place.

Thanks Marc. For tomorrow there are two options:

I was also told that these may be available for VOD after the race on Peacock.

Skiworldcup.live is a free site but it only covers races in Austria. All the races are available afterwards for VOD. If you want to catch all the races during the season the only place (in the US) is Peacock which charges a monthly fee. I think there will be very limited cable/satellite broadcasts this year on the NBCSN and the Olympic channel.

It is great that a last minute deal was struck and that the FIS President is upset about the possibility that the US would be shut out.
