This is going to be very fun to watch and it will be great for ski racing! It also probably says something about the level of competition he sees out there today, at least in slalom. In GS, we are going to see how Odermatt rates when up against the best ever. I don't think that anyone can take 5 years off and come back at 35 and be at the same level they were when they retired. But I absolutely think he will be competitive in both slalom and GS, but likely not dominant the way he was.
As a huge fan of his skiing and racing it will be a joy to be seeing him race again.
