Shipping Skis

Postby midwif » Sat Feb 04, 2006 1:28 pm

I can't remember where, but I know I've read about companies that ship skis to your destination overland. Anybody have a name or even better, personal experience with these? Can you include boots (if in the ski bag)?
THanks in advance

UPS or any of the other parcel services. You might be able to get a suitable box at a ski shop's recycle pile, or buy one at a shipping outlet..."UPS STORE", etc. There is an additional charge because of the size.

YOU WANT TO CARRY YOUR BOOTS ON THE PLANE. You can always rent good skis to replace lost skis. Try renting good boots!

Good advice about the boots. Last year the airline lost my luggage for a day and a half. Fortunately, all my ski stuff did make it and I had a ski outfit in my ski bag so I was able to ski the day I landed in Park City.

My son will join us for the latter half of this years trip to P.C. and is coming from grad school in Tx. I have his skis/boots here in the northeast and DO NOT want to be the one to drag them over.

Thanks, for the UPS advice.
Will check it out.
