Head S8 boot flex

Postby JohnMoore » Tue Jan 10, 2006 5:53 am

My Head S8 boots have a two-position flex setting - Hard (7.6) and Soft (6.6). Is there any reason (snow type or conditions, for example) why I would ever need to switch from one setting to the other?

That boot is fairly soft even on its highest setting so I'd think you'd want to put in on 7.6 and leave it there. For comparison I ski the RS100 all over the mountain on the hardest setting (10.1) and never move it.

I have left it on the harder setting so far (or rather, changed it from the soft default). I just wondered what the circumstances were which might merit a softer flex.

I would have preferred to buy the S10 or S12, but was unable to find them in any of the resorts I was at. In the end I found the S8's in a shop in my home town, in one of the flattest areas of England! Maybe in a year or two I'll move on up to something stiffer.

Because its so soft already I can't think of any reason to move it. Some folks like softer flex for bumps and powder. Not me though, I like them stiff all the time.
