Hello, I just demoed the Izor 9.7, and frankly I thought it was the worst feeling/performing ski I was on in 3 years. Its unstable, its edge grip is weak, and it was very non discript. I would definitely look more at the XRC, but frankly, these 2 skis should not even be mentioned in the same sentance. The XRC is a dynamic and powerful ski, as the Izor (or "eye-sore" as the guys in the demo shop called them)- feels more like a toy.
On the other hand, I demoed a pair of skis this weekend, that frankly is the most incredible ski I've been on in 5 years...the 05/06 K2 Apache crossfire with the IBX Piston bindings. I have not skied a K2 in 20 years, and frankly, if I could afford it, I'd guarentee you that if you can find a better performing all mountain ski, I'll pay for the demo! Anyway, I just sold all of my skis and I am in the process of securing a good deal on a pair. PLEASE, DEMO THIS SKI BEFORE YOU BUY ANYTHING!
