Here is some info on Head Boots I got from Diana when I was out at the shop. Head has a new race plug that will debut next year which will be called the R2 (which is a 150 flex, 94mm last race plug). They will also make this in a 130 flex which is called the R3. Evidently its a whole new last and fit and it is longer than the B2/B3 last. This is essentially bad news for me because the B2 fits me perfectly (so I am pumped I just got a new pair). Diana had not skied it but Walker had seen it and perhaps skied it (can't remember). In classic Head fashion they are doing stuff that makes little sense. They will continue the B series but eliminate the B2 from it. They will continue to make the B3, the B5 and they are adding a B4 which will be a 120 flex 94mm (they may call it 95mm) lasted boot. I guess that will be nice for a few people that the B5 was too soft for and the B3 was too stiff (but they are so easy to soften). Personally I think the flex differences are likely minimal and most decent PMTS skiers are looking for stiffer boots (perhaps not the rest of the buying public) but I digress.
Hopefully the R2 will be a great boot. I hope they did not dial back the forward lean but I guess anything is possible.
