Just Purchased the new ispeeds 2017 model - Binding question

Postby Jeet » Thu Feb 16, 2017 5:07 am

Hi there,

Just purchased the new ispeeds 2017 model for the Hintertux camp in March. I purchased them with the PRX binding because the older pair of ispeeds had the PRD bindings. I will bring both bindings to camp, I was wondering if its an easy job to swap the PRX to PRDs in case the PRX were not suitable?

Easy peasy. Slide the old bindings off the rails. Slide the new ones on. Takes ~5 seconds (per ski  )

Just make sure you get the toe/heel pressure right. Instructions a on how to check should be in the binding manual.

FWIW, I hated the PRX's low heel/toe delta on my i.Speeds. Bought PRD's and all was right again. Cant say which will work for you, but the difference is major.

Just to clarify, the PRX has the higher delta actually, depending on what you mean by lower or higher. It's 9.5mm higher in the heel than the toe, vs 4.5mm for the PRD. That's according to the 2015-2016 technical manual anyway (the 2016-2017 PDF is MIA).

I have swapped out the PRD and PRX bindings very easily; all you need is a screw driver.
I recommend taking a photo with of the current positions before hand. I'm presently using
PRX due to the larger delta.

Can I use PRX that came with 2015 Super Shape i-Speed be used for newer e-Speed that comes with PRD? In other words, do PRX fit on the rail system of the most recent e-Speed? Thank you.

Yes. The Head /Tyrolia Powerail Rails accept both the PRD and PRX Bindings toe heel and brake pieces. They have used the same rail size for many years. Remember the heel lift delta difference between the PRD12/14--4mm and the PRX12--8mm.

I know. I have e-Original and e-Rally. This is a little bit complicated situation, but someone ruined my i-Speed is willing to give me e-Speed (just because i-Speed no longer exists) doesn't want to give me a new pair of PRD. I think he is just being difficult. So, he is willing to give me a a new pair of skis, but wants to keep new PRD. I personally want to have PRD. In other words, he wants to use new PRD with my old i-Speed. Does this make sense? I am thinking about a case for him keeping PRX on the i-Speed. Any thoughts?
