Raptor B3; worth adjusting the stiffness?

Postby noobSkier » Mon Jan 02, 2017 5:30 pm

Im on a pair of raptor B3's currently adjusted to the stock stiffness (120). Does the "flex-stance tuning" at the back of the boot actually do anything? And is it worth it from a PMTS perspective to have them adjusted to 130 or 140?

A few years back, either Harald or Diana lost the outer metal plate in the flex stance tuning on a raptor and didn't notice any real difference.

Having said that, if you're on the heavy side and ski in warm spring conditions and feel like the boot is going to crumple forward, then put in the other bolts. Chris Brown did that for me in my old grey raptor 130 RD (old name for b3) and it helped. (When I later switched to the b2, he put in all the bolts as part of the initial fitting based on this experience.)
