Also (somewhat more recent, though that doesn't imply "better", as discussed above):

Anything over 70mm is harder to tip. By the time the ski hits 78mm its a width suitable for most off piste conditions a skier is likely to find for resort skiing. If you often ski wet heavy snow that is 12"+ then you might want something wider, like the RnR at 95mm. The wider you go the harder they are to tip on anything firm. Most developing PMTS skiers don't tip enough on a 66mm ski so moving to a wider ski will often result in rotary movements, so its a catch 22. Don't go wide until you have the skills needed to drive them.

In this shot I'm on 170cm SuperShapes that are 66mm under the foot.

What's the current story on the Jam (and the other Movement skis)? The Jam's the only ski left from that 11/12 list that's still in production. Has it changed since then, and does HSS still carry it?

Currently there are two versions, the Jam and the Jam-Z:

I am pretty sure HSS is no longer carrying the Jams. Its not because they stopped liking the ski its because us distribution is an issue and they found it harder to get the skis.I have never skied the original and I ave not skied the new ones either so I am of little help. From speaking with Harald, Diana and other PMTS coaches that did ski it, the original was a very nice PMTS all mountain ski with a softer flex than the peak 84 which was the other 85ish waisted ski to consider at that time.

They continue to be hard to find in the US and likely impossible to demo. With two choices now it seems like a ski to avoid until you can either demo them or a PMTS coach demo's them and reports back.

Excellent advice.

Unfortunately manufacturers sometimes ruin a great ski as they change the design from year to year. If I'm not mistaken that happened to the IM78 as it morphed into the Peak 78 where at least one of the yearly models got worse.

I purchased Movement Jam skis a few weeks ago and really like them. I considered the newer Movement Jam Z line, but decided not to go with them as I thought that they would likely be stiffer which is not what I was after. I was unable to demo before purchase. I would be very interested in feedback from any expert PMTS skier who has had recent experience of either.
