Are my boots too soft?

Postby Sailor » Fri Apr 11, 2008 6:27 pm

I spent a few days at SolVista in March, and consistently struggled to keep my tips engaged. I'm now concerned that my boots - Head Edge 9.8 - are too soft. Is that possible? As much as I lean forward, and flex, the tips just seem disconnected. I'm 5' 9", 165 lbs, and pretty strong. Should I look for a stiffer boot? Would a Head S11 work? Please advise.

What skis...make & model...and what length?

Do you feel that your boots are adequately supporting you and transferring the force to your skis, and the skis are absorbing the force and not transferring it to the snow? Or, do you feel that your boots are not adequately supporting you and not transferring the force to your skis?

The latter. I can see that the tips really aren't engaging, especially when turning to the left (my right boot feels much bigger than my left. And it doesn't seem to matter how much I flex.
