Should I replace these bindings? (Pix included)

Postby proball19 » Mon Feb 11, 2008 7:07 am

Demo'd a number of skis in the past couple weeks, but settled on the K2 Crossfire. The bindings (factory Marker 12.0, NOT the Marker 12.0 Pistons) were thrown in for $50, which got me out the door. But I'm looking to switch them out. See pix below. Would a Marker Piston binding, such as the Marker 12.0 Piston or Turbo be better ... or not enough of a difference to merit the extra $200.

So long as the binding is safe and meets release specs I'd leave it alone. I have skiied both. Frankly, for my taste the piston (at least on some skis I have skiied) is a little overly damp. I know they have changed some over the last few years, but initially when you could turn the piston on or off I definately preferred it "off". In short, use them and enjoy.
