Buckle order

When I was fitting boots the boot seller told me to begin from top to toe instead of closing buckles from toe to top. He said that almost every boot vendor tells him so.
This was the first time I?ve heard this, but I tried and must say that it feels pretty good.

What is the most common? Comments or boot closure ideas ?
