Eric Schlopy's catapult

Postby jclayton » Sat Nov 19, 2005 9:32 am

Watching the video World 2005 from the CSCF there is an opening sequence with Eric Schlopy catapulting out of a slalom turn and crashing . I beleive it is quite well known .
It appears to me that he was caught in the back seat and couldn't control the massive rebound . This is a problem I have when I start to crank it up on steeper slopes but I cant quite see where I go wrong exactly . An infromed analysis of this situation would help .

DId he not get to a nuetral position at transition or at the release point ?
Did he get caught in the back seat ?
Did he not release early enough ?
Did he get twisted out of shape , i.e. not counterig in time ? or getting caught on the inside of the turn ?

It happens so quickly it is hard for me to follow . any ideas ?
skinut ,among other things
