Favorite drills for Tipping and flexing on very flat slopes

Postby skijim13 » Mon Nov 18, 2019 4:55 am

After two days out on very limited terrain, we took out first video. Our CA/CB was not looking bad for early in the season, however we were both weak on tipping and flexing. During early season the only place to train is a very easy trail without much of a slope. Anyone with a similar situation on how you could work on this skill on man made snow that is sticky.

Get a good wax for early season, that snow is aggressive so you want a hard wax, if it's dried well, some graphite/moly in it won't hurt, otherwise an LF wax will help in many conditions.

And then, I do super-phantoms with touch-tilt, garlands, touch the boots in transition, holding the poles from the middle etc - should give you enough material for video and feedback. Other ways to use the slow greens is to work on one footed balance, most critical - on all 4 edges - bewteen phantoms and banana turns, that would keep me busy if I had just greens...

The essentials video has a great array of drills for every essential. The tipping ones are great.

Very easy, not much slope. That calls for onesies.
