In fact, in re-reading the first article, a light bulb went off in my head as I realized that my long layoff brought back some bad old habits that clearly had not been eradicated from my skiing. Of note, is the 3rd to last paragraph from the 1st article. Here Harald clearly explains what will happen if you do not continue to tip the free foot. Something has to create the turn, if you're not tipping, you must be doing something else. In my case, my old straight ski knee angulation technique has been rearing its ugly head. Knee angulation leaves you with weak edge engagement and skidding/twisting is often the result.

Thanks for giving me the impetus to re-read this material. :)
