I.m not sure how to download images, but an article in Ski Racing "Slowing down to get faster" on ski racer Val Grenier included this image. I think the angle of the view shows just how difficult handling the high forces are likely to be. I wonder if she has , at least in part, a cuff alignment problem.

To my untrained eye, her R leg and boot show similar angles to the skier Harald discussed in his blog post linked above. The R knee appears tucked/driven way inside...

There are a number of pictures on the net of her and I think most of them show a similar problem - like you Doug - to my untrained eye. My interpretation is that ( if one assumes her canting is OK ) her cuff alignment is wrong so that to achieve tipping by applying pressure to the inside off the cuff she has to flatten her foot and internally rotate her lower leg hence the knee position. She has had
( ? anterior ) compartment problems and one wonders if better alignment might have helped/help this.

In that photo there are little or no gravitational forces acting on her ski or leg, she is straight into the falline. For her to have that much knee angle without edge purchase, at this phase of the turn, is not a good sign.
