Pushing the plastic

What is the prescription to stop doing this? Is it shimming the toe piece or a heel lift or something else?

Could be movement related or equipment but without video no way to be sure.

Ok will provide video. One with pushing, the other "cuff neutral".

Seems movement based. Hot weather and soft boots make for the knees moving too far over the toes. ie, Holding on to the turn too long with forward pressure gives patellar ligament pain.

Should be confirmed with video, as Max said, but if your analysis is accurate, why are you "holding on to the turn... with forward pressure" at all? So far as I'm aware, applying forward pressure is not recommended by PMTS (at any temperature).

Don't get forward pressure by bending the front of the boot in any case, so something is wrong on three fronts, technical and boot choice and set up.

Thank you!

I will change this movement pattern and attempt to get some video to show my current state of affairs.

Using a WC FIS ski to learn PMTS is not a good idea. All balance errors were magnified, and the lizard brain ( fight or flight ) makes it difficult to move. The pushing of the plastic was being done to overcome the natural function of the ski -- too far forward, and the ski wants to turn... and quickly!!! My "fix" was to crush the boot with bodyweight to overcome the skiis tendency to turn sharply. This is not a good idea, as it hurts the knees and is not PMTS.

Switching to a different ski made learning to balance easier. The balance point on the foot is now approx. at the front of the heel pad, and the shin is cuff neutral.
