something to share

Something I did last year that really improved my skiing:
Straightline some steep stuff for about 20 feet, then see how quickly you can get the speed under control, but only use turn shape to do so (hockey stops are not effective here). Then try to limit the width of the turns to say 20 feet. Then straightline 30 feet.
What this did was give me confidence to not turn in the tight spots (which would have been braking turns) because I knew I could get the speed back under control easily. It also got me used to skiing steep stuff at higher speeds. And mandatory air lines are not *quite* as intimidating (I'm still not comfortable in most).

being in control is over-rated, straitline the whole mountain

that does sound like a good training technique though
