Relaxing movements and balancing are the two corner stones that connect all good movements not only in skiing in all sport
For want of a better way of saying it, this is what I have learned this year:
Skiing "in balance" with movements connected with "relaxation phases". I know this is inaccurate, but it tries to get across that you should not keep a stranglehold on your body to ski.
It all started with Harald's direction to lift the stance ski at the moment of transition and keep it lifted until the next turn. It became obvious that one could do this will a lot less muscular effort if you just balanced on the new stance leg and really freed up the free foot.
Since then, I've been striving to use less muscular energy for all movements. Thank you again Harald. I am enjoying the results of this discovery immensely.
Video will be forthcoming, once I find a camera. IMO, Check point 1 has been accomplished!!
