Counter Balance????

Postby h.harb » Mon Dec 09, 2013 9:27 am

Why invent other names for what has been written and explained for the last 16 years in PMTS??? In three different books and 5 videos. If you want to become a student of PMTS please please represent it properly. Saying it and doing it right, demonstrates attention to details and in the end it's all about accuracy and detail.

It confuses others and doesn't explain what you are trying to work on. Let's not begin to do what has been done to other ski techniques world wide. Make it more confusing than it already is! This is the right terminology, in the right context.

Yes, in fact the White Salomon boots you see on the World Cup are excellent.

Welcome! Read a lot and try the "search" if you have questions, the history is deep and long. When stuck, feel free to post questions.

That is an absolutely amazing shot of Bode's skiing from the race, but Bode did also have some "Bode moments" of old; he definitely exhibited a tad less control than Ligety.

Yes, Bode will always ski more with what seems like recklessness for many reasons. He wants to be more aggressive that's his nature. His legs are disproportionately longer than most skiers, than his upper body. This is why he looks so back on his heels (long femurs) in many situations. When he was first winning on the world cup, in slalom, he didn't have this stance. He grew at least 2 inches in his legs over the years. So when he transitions it looks like he stands, but in reality he's still releasing trying to get his legs to the other side. With this set up, it's almost impossible in slalom to be quick enough turn to turn..Once in the arc Bode is as classic and the most classic of skiers. I've watched him running GS while standing right beside the course on the slope in training. He is more classic than anyone right at the gate. This is what saved him. THis year he is more in control of his liabilities, and he's much stronger and lighter.

I'm amazed no one has commented on, how what Bode is showing here, is exactly what we were practicing during our camps.

So I'm asking the question do you see how PMTS movements are derived from these skiers? Is anyone making this connection to PMTS training and instruction?????? Or am I fooling myself to think the training we use is working and the understanding is getting through? Help!!!!

Yes. It is thought that darkmatter is the framework upon which the universe is "built" or arrayed--it gives form, but is itself, formless. A paradox. :)
