"Training Skis" - Polishing Technique

Yes another length question :( -- just with another twist.

For relatively new skiers, or those modernizing their technique - would short (or very short) skis be of benefit? In Peter's ski reviews - the Elan NRT -123 CM (02/03) was listed as an excellent learning tool.

Lets say I ski a 160 in a cross ski / 70MM range. Would a ski in 140-150 length range help to improve my skiing ? Yes I know it depends on terrain, ability, size, etc -- just looking for general comments from some of you more experienced (better) skiers out there.

I am amazed at some of the lengths I see mentioned in the various forums. Guys 170+ lbs skiing 160s for carving / slalom. Lengths just seem to be going smaller and smaller.

Harald or Peter -- any comments? Anybody ever ski these ultra short training type skis?

Thx. Rookie

The Harb Carvers will give you much more accurate feedback about your skiing than the short short skis.
