Sorry Harald, but the hardest thing about skiing here is clearing the snow out of your nose and mouth at the end of each run.
(Yes Harald, I am skiing upright - I could predict that comeback coming)

It is really cool to see this history. I was having a side discussion with someone and we discussed how old this information is now and how it has still not been adopted by mainstream instruction.

Love it! Thanks Cobber! (look it up).

I just posted an old magazine article on my website from Ski Canada (2000) on pole use. Pole use has developed significantly in PMTS to the minimalist end. If a movement is not positively contributing to the counter balance and counter action that supports geater tipping, don't do it! Currently, PMTS uses the "no pole plant pole plant." C'est Moderne!!

This article is from the past. Even so, many seeds of the modern pole plant were present back in 2000. I also hope you appreciate the new pagination format in the magazine articles. It should make browsing them faster and easier. Enjoy.

And we get to see Diana again! WOO WOO!

Pole Use (Ski Canada, 2000).

Click here for the list of other old magazine articles.

Enjoy.

Thanks Jay, economy of pole movements has always been on my radar. Nothing messes you up like a whirling pole arm and nothing clams you down like a no swing pole tap. PMTS, yes.

Student Rights we came up with in conjunction with Kim Peterson, about 15 years ago. They should be posted on a sticky:

We can add a few:

#8 We have a right to an individual lesson, while in groups.

#9 We have the right to be informed, know, and modify our equipment when deemed necessary.
