Don't waste your money with a non pmts trained boot fitter if you think you have alignment problems.

Is Fresno near enough to Tahoe? It might be worth the drive.

I think you may have saved me. I was not thinking about going to Fresno originally. It will take a day round trip.

Great! You will be more thoroughly measured and evaluated than you would get at any standard bootfitter. Footbeds and boot alignment can definitely make a huge improvement.

Many of us have experienced immediate improvement through an alignment (by a PMTS-trained bootfitter) of our existing equipment. You should be mentally prepared going into the process that you could find out that there are some limitations with your existing boots. Some of those might be limitations with the boots themselves for PMTS technique (such as rotary vs. lateral), or in how well they really fit you. You could also find out that you can make a lot of progress with proper alignment of your existing boots, but you might need to plan for an upgrade later on to achieve your full potential.

At some shops, a sales-focused staff will make recommendations based on what they want to sell. Anyone who carries Harald's recommendation will recommend only the work that you really need - I have observed this with numerous skiers.

My street shoe size is 10. My boots are Salomon Impact 10, size 26.5. I am pretty sure the smaller size won't fit me with this model.

Is your foot a true size 10 when measured?

I don't know what my foot measurement is. I tried on the boots at the store.
