Heck, here in the east there in no more snow now than there was in the summer. So, I've gone ahead and made my own dryland training ramp. :)

Thoughts on new book

Postby fredm8 » Thu Dec 21, 2006 11:23 pm

Having been lurking in this forum for some months now, EOS has given me the following key points:
1. An understanding of the PMTS techniques (A classic or sticky thread covering the fundamentals would be good)
2. An understanding of the different acronyms used in the forum
3. The graphics & pictures are great, as it visualises the text being taught
4. Drills to perfect before Tuesday 26th in Colorado
5. Pointers and training methods to practice on the snow

After my first read through, with an indepth study of Essentials #1 & #2, I have to say I am now in a position to improve my skiing dramatically.

Cant wait to get to Colorado next week and ski

I participated at list 1 camp every year (some years 2 camps) and private lessons with HH and his team for last 7 years
I literally learned to ski from Harald and Diana (I started skiing 1999 spring)

Info contained in this book and exercises described have been tested on me
and me alike. They do work and work brilliantly!

If you still don't have a book please buy and buy more then one give support to Harb Ski Systems . They priced this book way low! In my opinion it worth at least $4200

I got 4...

Nice job on the tipping board, we have a traveling one for our camps that looks just like the one you made.

Essentials:
Finally got my copy, the first one mailed probably was lost in mail?? Have read it a couple of times now. First thoughts:
- 'the big picture' is very clear, definitely easier to grasp than from 1&2
- chapter 1 is a masterpiece: it's 110% clear what is happening in expert skiing, what is needed, and why
- DVD is a great teaser for more. Beautiful skiing motivates readers. HH's feet are surprisingly fast ..
- other chapters describe an impressive set of exercises, which look very interesting, i'll have a lot to do..
- photo montages are of very, very high quality

I congratulate HH and HSS team for a fantastic achievement. I have never purchased anything at a price this low (is it too low, feels like stealing!) and getting so much.

I wish all PMTS folks a happy new year!
HSS team, see you in Tux07, finally.

T2

PS The weather sucks here, no slopes in reasonable condition within 300km..

The use of that ONE montage to demonstrate ALL the movements. It's really hard to describe how well that works until you read it. It shows over and over how the movements work together and yet it's also shows each individual movement clearly. It's like seeing the forest and the trees at the same time.

It's arrived (thru Amazon Japan), flicked thru it and have just watched the DVD, very cool. Seems to put everything in the other books/DVDs in a nutshell, from my limited perspective. :)

Some thoughts on the new book.

1. It is EXCELLENT. Having spent a few weeks reading through it I am now re-reading from chpater 1 and working on my skills and drills.

2. We are the iPod generation, so has anybody converted the video into a format that will play on a vido iPod. Or at least each of the drills as a separate chapter, so that when on the hill, you can view a summary of each drill to practice ?

Harald, any thoughts on putting up each drill as a separate downloadable iPod friendly video ?
